(Get Your Mind Right) Follow Your Heart…NOT

Dont follow your heart

How many times has your heart gotten you in trouble?  How many times have you done something that your mind was saying NOOOOO but your heart was saying YESSSSSS?  Sometimes things can feel so right and be soooo absolutely the opposite.  So, what do you do when you are faced with this situation… Think with your head, not your heart.

Those that live being led by getting in touch with their “inner self” and not seeking God are headed towards a path of destruction.  The heart is evil.  Without the power of God, man is hopeless to succumb to sin and make wrongful decisions.

We live in a fallen world and things are worse today than they’ve ever been from kids disrespecting parents to teens killing each other, to adults raping children, to satanic halftime sporting event performances, to society glorifying homosexuality… the list goes on and on.

People do things because it feels right.  People cheat on their spouses because their hearts are somewhere else.

People But we grow as individual through the renewing of our minds.  We grow in our faith when we take the time to actually read the scriptures and study what God says.  But many people don’t take the time to read.  They do things because they feel in their hearts that it’s right and that God understands the temptations they face.  And for some reason they fell that God has changed his position on things.  Or we make excuses for ourselves blaming our past for things we do today, or using the remembrance of someone hurting us as justification for doing the wrong thing.  The Bible says we are to grow by the renewing of our mind.  That comes from hearing and studying God’s word.

You don’t have to read the Bible cover to cover to make it to heaven, but when you do take the time to read and truly study you will know what it means to be renewed.  You will know how much wisdom it contains.  You will know about how it instructs you to guard your heart but not to be led by it because  The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?  (Jeremiah 17:9).

I don’t follow New Age religions or anything like that very much.  I choose not to pollute my mind with  that.  But from what I do pick up from time to time is how they want you to get in touch with your inner-self. As Christians, we
